There’s nothing like this on the market. If I had any doubts about the features of Palantir, after this demo it’s pretty clear that no other software vendor can offer anything remotely close to what Palantir is capable of.
For larger enterprises, military, governments… but more importantly for any company working with large data sets this is the only platform, which can offer such advanced data integration, modeling, access, analytics and governance features.
Data is the word that’s going to be repeated a lot. Likewise, a lot of other companies work with data. However only Palantir can tame incredible amounts of data, make it user-friendly, accessible, understandable and give data a loving home regardless of its origin or shape. Palantir is the connective tissue and Qi that makes data alive and useable and no longer seen as something evil. (Which is almost the opposite of what you get with Oracle or SAP).
In 20+ years in the software industry I’ve seen nothing like that from Oracle, Microsoft, Google, IBM nor anything even remotely close that someone somehow attempted to build in house. I’ve migrated petabytes of data, helped build ERP, and predictive analytics systems. I’ve worked with NodeAI later acquired by SugarCRM. Struggled with implementations of NetSuite and MS Dynamics and again, none of those tools have anything remotely similar to what Palantir does. Data visualization tools like Kibana (elastic) Splunk, DataDog, BigQuery build their entire business models on the fraction of features of Palantir.
My only question is “how much?”.
This will be the most influential enterprise technology company of the near future. If they aren’t able to start bringing in billions in revenue given absolutely incredible features as shown, I would be seriously concerned about some severe fundamental issues. At this point I do not see any. If they make their products accessible even at hefty price point, they will have buyers lining up… nearly every enterprise needs this.
Cheers.
